At this time i would like to share you something! ( Again )
It's about Procedure Text!
I have been waiting for a long time to get this lesson.
Because what? Because Texts are my favorite subject 💞
Ummm Ok, lets go to the topic.
Have you ever heard about Procedure Text before?
Actually, we often find this text in daily life.
For example : Manual use, recipe, Tips, Etc!
How? You don't expect it right?
Me too:v
I meann, on the past, I didnt know if this was a part from Procedure Text. But, after i learn about procedure text deeper, i know it now.
AHAHAHAHHAH ( Overproud )
Ekheeemm, so, i hope after reading this blog, you all will understand about procedure text! I will discuss this lesson from the Social function - Generic Structure and then the Language features.
Ok, are you ready to slide deeper? LETS GO! 💥
A. SOCIAL FUNCTION
The social function of procedure text is :
To explain how people make / do / use something step by step.Example
Make : Receipt.
Do : Tips.
Use : Manual.
B. GENERIC STRUCTURE
a) Aim / goal.
- Tell what will we make / do / use.
- This is the another name of tittle.
- For example :*How to make a juice.
*How to charge a powerbank.
*How to take pretty notes.
b) Material / Ingredient.
- Tell, what needed / what we need.
- This structure is OPTIONAL with other words you can skip this structure, if you dont need it.
- What is the different between INGREDIENT and MATERIAL?
*Ingredient is usually use for receipt ( something that can be eaten)
*Materials is something that can't be eaten, for example: Rock, cotton, etc.
c) Tools.
- The tools that we need to make / do / use something.
- This step is also OPTIONAL, if you dont need it, just skip it ~
- Example : Scissor, Blender, Cutter, etc.
d) Steps.
- Steps how to make / do / use something.
- Usually use imperative sentence.
- For Example :*Cut the vegetable.
*Cut the pineapple.
*Turn on the lamp.
C. LANGUAGE FEATURES
a) Simple Present Tense.
- Simple Present Tense's social function is to tell habitual action and general truth.
- The Formula ( Is this called formula? Lol ) :
* (+) S + V1s/es + O
* (- ) S + Dont/doesnt + V1 + O
* (?) Do/does + S + B1 + O + ?
He, She, It : S/es
They, We, I, You : Verb 1
b) Imperative Sentence.
- A sentence that told to do something.
- Example : *Cut the pineapple.
*Kick the ball.
*Then, Blend it.
c) Temporal conjunction.
-Then.
-First.
-Second.
-After That.
-etc.
D. EXAMPLE
Now, because i am a kind boy ( this is fact ) I will give you an example of Procedure text. And also I'll analyze this text too!
AIM / GOAL : How to Make a Pancake
INGREDIENTS :
- 3 – 4 spoonful of flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ (250 ml) of milk
- 1 stick of butter
TOOLS :
- 1 mixing bowl
- 2 table spoons
- 2 cups
- 1 small pan
STEPS :
- Put the flour in the bowl.
- Put milk in a cup.
- Make sure it’s 250 ml of milk.
- Put the milk in the bowl.
- Break the 2 eggs into the bowl.
- Mix it with a spoon.
- Heat up the pan and put the butter
- Put the mix in the pan.
- Let the pancake mix cook about 5 minutes
- Flip pancake over when the top is brown.
- Your pancake its ready to be serve
